I am your Prenatal Coach & Birth Doula, what does that mean?

In addition to a complimentary initial meeting, you have your choice between two service packages:

Prenatal Coaching

or

Prenatal Coaching + Birth Doula.

Complimentary Initial Meeting - 30 minutes

It is important we meet before I am hired as your doula to make sure we are all comfortable and feel as though our working together will be the right fit. We will meet in a location of your choice, via FaceTime or Zoom, and chat briefly about my services, what to expect from me, what I should expect from you, and see if we have a good feeling about one another. At this time, I will leave with you my contact information, some information about doulas and the support we provide, and a general contract for my services with an explanation of my fees. If you chose to hire me as your doula, I will request you fill out a Client Intake Form so that I may know and understand you a bit more before our next meeting. I am also able to send you an email file of the questionnaire if you’d rather.

Prenatal Coaching

4 Prenatal Sessions - 90 minutes each

When you hire me as your Birth Support Coach, we will meet a minimum of four sessions lasting approximately 90 minutes. We will meet to discuss and plan for a variety of topics: create visions for the birth, identify ideals for pregnancy, labor and delivery, set attainable monthly goals, give accountability for those monthly goals, create a birth plan, formulate postpartum plans and preferences, discuss and practice of comfort measures for during pregnancy and for use in labor, etc. I am available for phone, text, and email support throughout pregnancy for both partners.

Prenatal Coaching + Birth Doula

4 Prenatal Sessions - 90 Minutes each

On-call from 38 weeks until delivery

Attendance at the birth - virtual or in-person - as permitted by your birthing location

One postpartum visit

When you hire me as your Birth Doula in addition to your Birth Support Coach, I will consider myself “on-call” two weeks before your due date and will attend your labor and birth as I am able to dependent on the birth location and county Covid-19 status at the time. If I am unable to attend your birth in-person, I will be available via FaceTime or Zoom while you are in the hospital through your delivery as I would in person. After delivery, I will stay for the duration of your birth and stay for one to two hours to assist with initial breastfeeding and getting comfortable after delivery. We will meet within 10 days of your delivery. At this time we will check-in with your emotional health as well as how your body is healing after delivery. I can assist with breastfeeding support, but will also have resources to refer to you, if necessary. The postpartum visit is a time to celebrate and retell your birth story and to support the next phase in your journey of motherhood.

Childbirth Education

A variety of offerings via Birthing Bravely.

After completing Lamaze Childbirth Educator training in the fall of 2022, I have spent the year exploring and contemplating how to integrate what I have learned in my coaching and doula practices. Starting 2024, I have paired up with fellow birth doula and childbirth educator, Stephanie Mollinier, to offer Childbirth Education in its many forms to the greater San Jose Area.

Pregnancy and Birth in the time of COVID-19

I am a fully vaccinated doula. I offer virtual - FaceTime and Zoom - options as well as a blended approach to services. Hospital rules and regulations regarding doulas is changing often, I will do my best to stay up-to-date with your birthing location and remain flexible. I am happy to discuss what works for you and your family.
